Hard to believe. Seems she was a baby just yesterday.

Happy birthday, Chaz!

Chaz is 17 years old today. 

He's definitely a senior but doesn't act like it. We're very blessed that he is very healthy. Good appetite - loves Temptations. Wants everyone to know when his water or food is low - or not as full as he thinks it should be. This has earned him the nickname of Mr. Mouth.

He was given up by his previous owners when he was 4 months old because they thought he was too active, He was a baby kitten! That's what they do. At 4 months they are little motion machines and that is part of their charm. Their loss was definitely our gain. John was in love with him from the very first minute he laid eyes on him. And Riley immediately adopted him and became his constant companion.

Happy birthday, Riley!

Riley is 18 years old today.

He's slowing down and has some health issues that we are managing with medication.

But he is still our sweetheart and so full of love.

I love this picture of him. So peaceful. I still can't get over how easily he relaxed in our home and just settled in. He is a sweet loving boy and seems to be enjoying his life. I think he knows he's safe now and can relax. I know his past years were chaotic and unsettling for him. But that is over now.

Meet Brady

Meet Brady Francis Collins, the newest member of our family.

He's a 12 year old Maltipoo that I adopted from AZHS yesterday.

He was an owner surrender from sad circumstances.

I was made aware of his situation and volunteered to give him a safe loving home. 

He's the same age as Bella although he is so much smaller than her. But I hope they will grow to be friends. 

Right now everyone is on high alert and wondering about all the changes, especially the cats - especially Chaz. Riley seems to be tolerating the situation and just keeping our of reach. 

But we had a good first night. ♥ 

Bella was blessed

The Franciscan Renewal Center had a blessing of the animals event yesterday. Bella was blessed by Fr. Page.

 

Bella has a boo-boo

Bella has something on her paw. It might be an infection, an injury, or something worse. For now, she has a spray to make it feel better and antibiotics to clear up any possible infection.

If it's not any better in a few days, she has to go back to the vet.

And in the meantime, she is not allowed to lick it which is what she would do all day long if I let her. So, she has to wear a cone. But instead of those big stiff ones, I got her a flexible foam cone and she doesn't seem to mind it although she's definitely not too happy about it. She had a donut collar but figured out she could work around it. So, cone it is.

Today is Riley's birthday

 Our sweet boy is 17 years old today. Riley has some health issues which are currently under control with medication.

He is still our lovable little boy and is enjoying his life and that's all we can ask.

It's the little things

 

                

                                   

I have a little bunny friend who lives in my front yard. I have seen him nibbling on whatever vegetation he can find which in AZ can't be very much.

So yesterday I had an idea. I always buy the pre-washed bags of salad and being just one person it usually looks pretty sad by the time I finish it and I wind up wasting a lot.

So, I decided this week to share it with my little buddy.

I placed some in a dish in the spot where I usually see him and waited.

And I was rewarded with seeing him enjoying his little treat.

It's the little things that warm your heart and make this journey enjoyable.
